How would you change Leofric for a Victorian AU?
He'd still be the son of a landowning noble family, and still a serial killer. Probably a cannibal, with a disorder where he's missing some enzyme or hormone he can only get from eating meat, possibly something humans have a higher concentration of. He's not going to be in a mage tower, obviously, but maybe a monastery on an island? Somewhere he can't leave, and has some incentive not to just kill everyone and eat them. I'd say an asylum, but it doesn't allow the freedom for advancement that he has in the Circle. So, I'd say his parents found out and gave him to a remote monastery, where he couldn't do much harm, with the understanding they'd keep him out of trouble.
