Chocolate Chip Creamsicle Cookies

Description

The Christmas cookies. They're not that hard.

Ingredients

  • 1c shortening
  • 1c sugar
  • 5T milk/milk substitute
  • 4tsp orange extract
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 3c flour
  • 4tsp baking powder
  • 192 chocolate chips

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F/180C
  2. Mix shortening and sugar, until more or less smooth
  3. Add extracts and milk, mix thoroughly
  4. Add flour and baking powder, knead until nothing is stuck to the bowl
  5. Weigh dough and divide into thirds (it's probably 12oz)
  6. Take each third and roll into a cylinder. Wrap each in plastic wrap and freeze for about half an hour (You're doing more than one batch. By the time you finish the third, you should be able to use the first.)
  7. Slice each roll into 16 discs and press flat on cookie sheet. You can fit 15 per pan, plan accordingly.
  8. Place four chips on each cookie
  9. Bake for 10m

Makes 48 cookies. You're making these for xmas. You need three batches = 9 rolls(15) + 9 extras = 144
